The work The Upper Goulburn, Victoria by John Skinner Prout was sold in the THE BLEASEL COLLECTION OF AUSTRALIAN PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in March 2005. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 19,120.00 (€ 11,705.82), 59% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Skinner Prout - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tom Thumb's Lagoon, 1844, which sold at auction in November 2020 for AUD 55,350.00 (€ 46,325.74).

Die Arbeit The Upper Goulburn, Victoria von John Skinner Prout wurde im März 2005 in der Auktion THE BLEASEL COLLECTION OF AUSTRALIAN PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 19.120,00 (€ 11.705,82) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John Skinner Prout mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tom Thumb's Lagoon, 1844 beobachtet, die im November 2020 für AUD 55.350,00 (€ 46.325,74) versteigert wurde.
