Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction Victorian Pictures, which included the work A view of Waterloo Bridge, with St Paul's in the distance by John O'Connor. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,868.00 (€ 4,121.47) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John O'Connor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ludgate, Evening in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 210,878.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A view of Waterloo Bridge, with St Paul's in the distance von John O'Connor zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.868,00 (€ 4.121,47) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John O'Connor erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ludgate, Evening im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 210.878,05).
