Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Modern education by John Nixon was sold in the Old Master, 19th Century & British Drawings & Watercolours auction at Christies in London in December 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,015.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Nixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Musicians practising in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,834.53).
