Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Nixon could be acquired at Christies in London in July last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 auction, the work The High Street, Glastonbury, Somerset changed hands for GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,791.27) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Nixon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Musicians practising in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,834.53).
