Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On the quay, St. Malo, France by John Mulcaster Carrick was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2001. The price achieved of GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,275.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Mulcaster Carrick - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fishermen off a rocky coastline, Italy; and The Italian Riveria, which sold at auction in June 2014 for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,247.26).
