In March 2021 Christies in London held the auction Modern British Art Day Sale, which included the work Banana Trees by John Minton. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,557.99), 46% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Minton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jamaican Village in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 293,000.00 (€ 345,711.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Im März 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Banana Trees von John Minton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.557,99) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Minton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Jamaican Village im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 293.000,00 (€ 345.711,19).
