In March 2021 Christies in London held the auction Modern British Art Day Sale, which included the work Banana Plantation by John Minton. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 110,000.00 (€ 129,221.66), 38% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Minton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Jamaican Village, which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 293,000.00 (€ 345,711.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im März 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Banana Plantation von John Minton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 110.000,00 (€ 129.221,66) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John Minton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Jamaican Village beobachtet, die im November 2016 für GBP 293.000,00 (€ 345.711,19) versteigert wurde.
