Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2003 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art including the Collection of the, which included the work Poseidon III by John Milne. The price achieved of GBP 3,107.00 (€ 4,460.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Milne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vertical Form, which sold at auction in November 2020 for GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,252.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art including the Collection of the durch, in der auch die Arbeit Poseidon III von John Milne zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.107,00 (€ 4.460,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Milne mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vertical Form beobachtet, die im November 2020 für GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.252,68) versteigert wurde.
