Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2006 Christies in New York held the auction The House Sale, which included the work Traveler on a coastal path by John MacWhirter. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,513.36). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John MacWhirter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Exile's Garden in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 18,812.00 (€ 21,294.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The House Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Traveler on a coastal path von John MacWhirter zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 1.920,00 (€ 1.513,36) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John MacWhirter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Exile's Garden im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.812,00 (€ 21.294,06).
