Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work On the river Wye by John MacWhirter. It changed hands for a price of GBP 562.50 (€ 754.06) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John MacWhirter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Exile's Garden in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 18,812.00 (€ 21,294.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit On the river Wye von John MacWhirter zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 562,50 (€ 754,06) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John MacWhirter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Exile's Garden im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.812,00 (€ 21.294,06).
