In May 2018 Christies in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work Venice by John Leslie Breck. The result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,137.96) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Leslie Breck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Garden, Ironbound Island, Maine in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,447,500.00 (€ 1,368,406.13).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Venice von John Leslie Breck zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 17.137,96) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Leslie Breck erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Garden, Ironbound Island, Maine im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.447.500,00 (€ 1.368.406,13).
