Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The River Epte, Giverny by John Leslie Breck was sold in the American Art auction at Christies in New York in November 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 112,500.00 (€ 106,352.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Leslie Breck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Garden, Ironbound Island, Maine in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,447,500.00 (€ 1,368,406.13).
