Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work The little mischief maker by John Leech for GBP 239.00 (€ 361.18). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours including Original at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Leech achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mr Briggs Taming A Colt Which He Has Bred Himself in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 4,500.00 (€ 5,440.84).

Im Juli 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The little mischief maker von John Leech für GBP 239,00 (€ 361,18) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours including Original bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Leech erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mr Briggs Taming A Colt Which He Has Bred Himself im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.500,00 (€ 5.440,84).
