Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work Verse Never Mailed by John Latham for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,247.26). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Post-War British Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Latham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Triptych 1954 in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 100,688.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2014 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Verse Never Mailed von John Latham für GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.247,26) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Latham erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Triptych 1954 im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 79.250,00 (€ 100.688,02).
