The work Violets in a Landscape by John La Farge was sold in the American Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2012. The result of USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,667.08) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John La Farge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Last Valley--Paradise Rocks in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 2,096,000.00 (€ 2,410,858.06).

Die Arbeit Violets in a Landscape von John La Farge wurde im September 2012 in der Auktion American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.667,08) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John La Farge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Last Valley--Paradise Rocks im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.096.000,00 (€ 2.410.858,06).
