Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by John Kørner achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in October 2020. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work White Painting sold for USD 4,410.00 (€ 3,786.38) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by John Kørner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Bird Man in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 23,941.04).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Kørner erzielte im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit White Painting für USD 4.410,00 (€ 3.786,38) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Kørner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Bird Man im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 23.941,04).
