Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2005 Christies in London held the auction THE IRISH SALE, which included the work Untitled, 1981 by John Kingerlee. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,400.00 (€ 7,972.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Kingerlee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grid Composition in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,822.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE IRISH SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, 1981 von John Kingerlee zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.400,00 (€ 7.972,09) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Kingerlee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grid Composition im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 44.822,67).
