Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Composition by John Kingerlee was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2008. It changed hands for a price of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,770.16) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Kingerlee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grid Composition in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,822.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Composition von John Kingerlee kam im Mai 2008 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.770,16) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Kingerlee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grid Composition im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 44.822,67).
