Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Kingerlee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2019. In the Irish Art auction, the work Grid sold for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 22,017.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Kingerlee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grid Composition, which sold at auction in October 2006 for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,822.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Kingerlee erzielte im November 2019 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Grid für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 22.017,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Kingerlee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Grid Composition beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für GBP 30.000,00 (€ 44.822,67) versteigert wurde.
