Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Grid by John Kingerlee for GBP 4,032.00 (€ 4,445.94). This price was achieved in the auction Irish Art, including Property from the Collection of Sir MichaelSmurfit at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Kingerlee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grid Composition in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,822.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Grid von John Kingerlee für GBP 4.032,00 (€ 4.445,94) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Irish Art, including Property from the Collection of Sir MichaelSmurfit bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Kingerlee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grid Composition im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 44.822,67).
