Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Man And Donkey by John Kingerlee was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2007. The price achieved of GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,361.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Kingerlee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grid Composition, which sold at auction in October 2006 for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,822.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Man And Donkey von John Kingerlee kam im Mai 2007 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.400,00 (€ 12.361,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Kingerlee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Grid Composition beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für GBP 30.000,00 (€ 44.822,67) versteigert wurde.
