Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Irish Art, which included the work Landscape by John Kingerlee. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 4,667.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Kingerlee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grid Composition in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,822.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape von John Kingerlee zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 4.667,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Kingerlee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grid Composition im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 44.822,67).
