Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2007 Christies in London held the auction The Gordon Collection of Portrait Miniatures, which included the work A gentleman, in orange and white fur robe, lace ruff, black skull cap, wearing the chain of SS with Tudor rose , grey beard and moustache; mauve background by John Hoskins. It changed hands for a price of GBP 14,900.00 (€ 20,863.85) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Hoskins - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A gentleman called Inigo Jones, in black gown, white lawn collar with tassels, black skull cap, long curling brown hair, moustache and small pointed beard; pillar and landscape background with castle in the distance, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 36,500.00 (€ 51,109.44).

Im November 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Gordon Collection of Portrait Miniatures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A gentleman, in orange and white fur robe, lace ruff, black skull cap, wearing the chain of SS with Tudor rose , grey beard and moustache; mauve background von John Hoskins zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 14.900,00 (€ 20.863,85) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00.
