Sold at the upper estimate price
In December 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Part I, which included the work Portrait Of A Gentleman by John Hoskins. The auction ended at the price of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,140.89), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Hoskins have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A gentleman called Inigo Jones, in black gown, white lawn collar with tassels, black skull cap, long curling brown hair, moustache and small pointed beard; pillar and landscape background with castle in the distance in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 36,500.00 (€ 51,109.44).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman von John Hoskins zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.140,89) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Hoskins auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A gentleman called Inigo Jones, in black gown, white lawn collar with tassels, black skull cap, long curling brown hair, moustache and small pointed beard; pillar and landscape background with castle in the distance im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 36.500,00 (€ 51.109,44).
