Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Portrait Of Lady Jane Staunton (D. 1823) With Her Son, Afterwards Sir George Thomas Staunton Bt. (1781-1859), And A Chinese Attendant Holding A Chest Of Tea by John Hoppner. It changed hands for a price of GBP 6,930.00 (€ 7,641.45) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Hoppner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Henrietta Maria Vernon Atherton, 2nd Lady Lilford (d. 1820), of Atherton Hall, Leigh, with her two children in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 81,900.00 (€ 96,044.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of Lady Jane Staunton (D. 1823) With Her Son, Afterwards Sir George Thomas Staunton Bt. (1781-1859), And A Chinese Attendant Holding A Chest Of Tea von John Hoppner zur Versteigerung kam.
