Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Tide island by John Hitchens was sold in the British, Continental and Russian Pictures auction at Christies in London in December 2006. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 720.00 (€ 1,068.57), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by John Hitchens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work From Deep Shadows in March 2007 with an auction result of GBP 5,760.00 (€ 8,478.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Tide island von John Hitchens wurde im Dezember 2006 in der Auktion British, Continental and Russian Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 720,00 (€ 1.068,57) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Hitchens auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit From Deep Shadows im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.760,00 (€ 8.478,06).
