Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Across The Fields by John Hitchens was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 796.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Hitchens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work From Deep Shadows in March 2007 with an auction result of GBP 5,760.00 (€ 8,478.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Across The Fields von John Hitchens kam im April 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 796,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Hitchens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit From Deep Shadows im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.760,00 (€ 8.478,06).
