The work Valley slope; Storm charged hills; and Green field by John Hitchens was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in September 2014. It achieved a price of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,853.34), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Hitchens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work From Deep Shadows, which sold at auction in March 2007 for GBP 5,760.00 (€ 8,478.06).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.853,34) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 67%. Für andere Arbeiten von John Hitchens mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit From Deep Shadows beobachtet, die im März 2007 für GBP 5.760,00 (€ 8.478,06) versteigert wurde.
