Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Windy Day by John Hitchens was worth GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,531.57) to a buyer in June 2011. This price was achieved in the auction The Evill/Frost Collection Part II at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Hitchens; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot From Deep Shadows sold at auction in March 2007 with the realized price of GBP 5,760.00 (€ 8,478.06).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
