In April 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work The Red Maple by John Henry Twachtman. The »bidding war« ended at USD 93,750.00 (€ 67,591.93), 56% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by John Henry Twachtman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hemlocks in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 600,000.00 (€ 445,997.18).

Im April 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Red Maple von John Henry Twachtman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 93.750,00 (€ 67.591,93) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Henry Twachtman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hemlocks im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 600.000,00 (€ 445.997,18).
