Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bateau Dans La Tempête by John Hamilton Mortimer was sold in the Old Master and 19th Century Paintings and Drawings, Sculptures, Frames auction at Artcurial in January 2016. The price achieved of EUR 1,040.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Hamilton Mortimer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Banditti fishing in January 2012 with an auction result of USD 116,500.00 (€ 89,251.51).
