Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Bandit taking up his post by John Hamilton Mortimer was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Christies in New York in June 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,250.00 (€ 16,774.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Hamilton Mortimer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Banditti fishing in January 2012 with an auction result of USD 116,500.00 (€ 89,251.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Bandit taking up his post von John Hamilton Mortimer wurde im Juni 2012 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 16.774,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
