Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Venice by John Henry Twachtman was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2008. The price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 22,193.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Henry Twachtman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hemlocks in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 600,000.00 (€ 445,997.18).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 22.193,03) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Henry Twachtman erzielen.
