The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 12,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than nine times as high at USD 118,750.00 (€ 106,387.74). This high result makes Oil Stick Work (Angelo Martinez, Richfield, Kansas) the most expensive artwork by John Gerrard that we have observed at auctions so far.
