Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sow Farm (Near Libbey, Oklahoma) by John Gerrard was auctioned at Phillips in London in December 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,286.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Gerrard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Oil Stick Work (Angelo Martinez, Richfield, Kansas) in September 2015 with an auction result of USD 118,750.00 (€ 106,387.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sow Farm (Near Libbey, Oklahoma) von John Gerrard kam im Dezember 2017 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.286,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Gerrard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Oil Stick Work (Angelo Martinez, Richfield, Kansas) im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 106.387,74).
