Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John George Brown could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work In The Hands Of The Enemy changed hands for USD 56,700.00 (€ 46,498.28) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John George Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Thrilling Moment in January this year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 754,282.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John George Brown konnte im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit In The Hands Of The Enemy für USD 56.700,00 (€ 46.498,28) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John George Brown erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Thrilling Moment im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 754.282,56).
