Auction result well in line with expectations
The work I Won't Go by John George Brown was sold in the The American Scene including Important Photographs from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,080.00 (€ 9,393.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John George Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Thrilling Moment in January this year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 754,282.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit I Won't Go von John George Brown wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion The American Scene including Important Photographs from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation bei Sothebys in New York versteigert.
