Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life With An Orange by John Frederick Peto was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,472.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Frederick Peto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Old Time Letter Rack in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 850,000.00 (€ 773,148.99).

Die Arbeit Still Life With An Orange von John Frederick Peto kam im März 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.472,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Frederick Peto erzielen.
