Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Earl of Jersey's 'Riddlesworth' with J. Robinson up at Newmarket by John Ferneley, Sen. was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2019. The price achieved of GBP 168,750.00 (€ 199,442.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Ferneley, Sen. have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Silver firs at Osberton in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 692,000.00 (€ 1,018,324.83).

Die Arbeit The Earl of Jersey's 'Riddlesworth' with J. Robinson up at Newmarket von John Ferneley, Sen. kam im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 168.750,00 (€ 199.442,75) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Ferneley, Sen. auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Silver firs at Osberton im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 692.000,00 (€ 1.018.324,83).
