Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Officers Watering Their Horses At A River; And A Saddled Hunter By A Country House by John Ferneley, Jnr. for GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,778.48). This price was achieved in the auction Sporting Art and Dogs at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Ferneley, Jnr. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Full Cry: Captain White hunting with the Quorn, with Hoby Church and Brooksby Hall in the distance in May 2002 with an auction result of USD 35,850.00 (€ 38,387.41).
