This artwork by John Deakin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2011. In the Photographs auction, the work Portrait of Rosie Barker, from the feature 'Bored Teenagers' for About Town magazine, 1962 sold for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,944.35) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Deakin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elizabeth Smart, Writer, c.1952, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,254.10).
