Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2007 Christies in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work Elizabeth Smart, Writer, c.1952 by John Deakin. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 18,500.00 (€ 25,904.79), 23% above the upper estimate. Other works by John Deakin have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,254.10) in May 2007 for the work Elizabeth Smart, Writer, c.1952.
