The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,601.03) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Deakin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Elizabeth Smart, Writer, c.1952 in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,254.10).
