Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Head (1) by John Davies was sold in the The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art in aid of the African Arts Trust, Sale 3 auction at Sothebys in London in November 2010. The price achieved of GBP 250.00 (€ 298.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Davies achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Brown Painted Head in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,940.70).

Die Arbeit Head (1) von John Davies wurde im November 2010 in der Auktion The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art in aid of the African Arts Trust, Sale 3 bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 250,00 (€ 298,75) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Davies erzielen.
