Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Sporting Sale: Equestrian, Wildlife & Maritime Art, which included the work British The Huntsman And The Whip (Two Works) by John Dalby. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,490.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Dalby achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Kill in June 2001 with an auction result of USD 47,000.00 (€ 55,463.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Sporting Sale: Equestrian, Wildlife & Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit British The Huntsman And The Whip (Two Works) von John Dalby zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.490,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Dalby erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Kill im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.000,00 (€ 55.463,77).
