Auction result well in line with expectations
The work British Mishap At A Stream by John Dalby was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,255.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Dalby achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Kill in June 2001 with an auction result of USD 47,000.00 (€ 55,463.77).
