The work British Clearing The Bank And Crossing The Road (Two Works) by John Dalby was sold in the The Sporting Sale: Equestrian, Wildlife & Maritime Art auction at Sothebys in New York in December 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 40,625.00 (€ 29,186.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by John Dalby have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2001 the work The Kill was auctioned for USD 47,000.00 (€ 55,463.77).
