Sold at the upper estimate price
In December 2015 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art; Maritime Art; Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work Shell Ducks Taking Flight Seaward by John Cyril Harrison. The auction ended at the price of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 2,036.93), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by John Cyril Harrison have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ptarmigan in mid plumage in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,335.36).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art; Maritime Art; Sporting & Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shell Ducks Taking Flight Seaward von John Cyril Harrison zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 2.036,93) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Cyril Harrison auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ptarmigan in mid plumage im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.335,36).
