This artwork by John Cyril Harrison achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2015. In the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art; Maritime Art; Sporting & Wildlife Art auction, the work A Nesting Marsh Harrier sold for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 4,413.34) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Cyril Harrison - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ptarmigan in mid plumage, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,335.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Cyril Harrison erzielte im Dezember 2015 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art; Maritime Art; Sporting & Wildlife Art wurde die Arbeit A Nesting Marsh Harrier für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 4.413,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Cyril Harrison mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ptarmigan in mid plumage beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.335,36) versteigert wurde.
