Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A noblewoman, in a low-cut white dress and ermine-bordered red cloak over her shoulders, wearing a red beaded necklace, dark hair upswept by John Cox Dillman Engleheart was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 334.60 (€ 505.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Cox Dillman Engleheart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The left eye of the artist's sister, Mary Cox Dillman Engleheart (1782-1845), later Mrs John Pyne, brown iris with curling lock of brown hair in December 2002 with an auction result of GBP 5,736.00 (€ 8,805.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A noblewoman, in a low-cut white dress and ermine-bordered red cloak over her shoulders, wearing a red beaded necklace, dark hair upswept von John Cox Dillman Engleheart kam im Juli 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion.
